ISO now has two qualified Training Assessors in Bill Harawira and Murray Wright. Bill and Murray have recently been awarded their Certificates of Assessor Recognition by Transqual ITO and are seen here being congratulated by Greg Dickson, CEO of ISO Limited. Bill and Murray have put in many hours of hard work, fitting the training in around their other duties, to gain this qualification which will be of benefit to them and ISO and enable them to carry out assessment of staff who achieve National standards in Port operations. ISO is committed to helping staff gain formal recognition of their skills and having them recognised under the NZQA framework.August 2009
ISO has recently taken ownership of four new 14m3 bulk grabs. These grabs are replacement for older grabs as part of ISO's equipment upgrade programme and also to bolster grab numbers to accommodate the increasing bulk product volumes being handled by ISO. These grabs (manufactured by Page Macrae Engineering in Tauranga) are larger than the 11m3 grabs that they were manufacturing for other companies. This was to meet ISO's requirement to be able to maximise cargo discharge capabilities for its customers and is an example of ISO's continued commitment to look at ways of providing the best service it can for its customers.April 2008
ISO Transport enters into both contractual and spot transportation. One of these contracts is the transportation of Manufactured Geothermal steam pipes from one of the Bay of Plenty's largest manufacturing engineers, Page Macrae Engineering in Mt Maunganui, to the new Mighty River Power Geothermal Plant in Kawerau, New Zealand. This scheme has been contracted to Sumitomo by Mighty River Power, with the piping and mechanical work being carried out by Page Macrae Engineering. This project is the largest single geothermal development in New Zealand for over 20 years with an estimated cost of $300 million at completion. Construction commenced in January 2007 and should be completed by the end of 2008. This cartage contract required a significant number of loads to Kawerau, many of which included assessment and management of over dimensional cartage. ISO Transport safely delivered all loads on time, and in specification as required by our customer to the Kawerau site.March 2008
