Introduction of 24 hour loading operations
Introduction of 24 hour loading operations for Reefer Kiwifruit Break Bulk loading operations creating significant Despatch earnings for the industry. Prior to ISO commencing cargo logistics for the Kiwifruit Industry vessel operations were limited to 16 hour days, with two 8 hour shifts in operation. ISO introduced 24 hour operations with the use of a Transit Buffer Store to allow for cargo to be specifically consolidated and managed during the late night/early morning hours when coolstores were no longer available to supply kiwifruit for vessel loading. This generated considerable despatch earnings in the order of millions of dollars for the industry.
