About NFA

NFA is a privately owned New Zealand company with the majority shareholders being; the Dynes Group and recently the Richardson Group (HWR). The newly formed JV with HW Richardson is very welcomed, and will add additional strength; both financially, and strategically, for NFA’s future growth aspirations.

NFA was established in 2010 to manage log marshalling. It now operates from four locations, Dunedin, Port Chalmers, Timaru and Bluff. The business has grown from approximately 200,000 JAS/ cubic metres of logs per annum in 2010, to now more than 1.5M JAS/ cubic metres. Log exports remain strong, which is largely driven by the demand out of China. India is also becoming a major trading partner as they are busy building what they have coined ‘Smart Cities’ which are being built using sustainable products, namely wood.

NFA operate an efficient, productive, and safety conscious business by developing and utilising innovations in the log marshalling industry. This involves the use of state of the art IT systems, both in inventory control, and integrated systems with centralised trucking dispatch, to ensure the efficient use of supply chain resources.

NFA has an experienced, qualified team, who pride themselves on providing their customers with a safe, solutions based service within the Port Operations industry. The staff at NFA cover a range of skills and services from log scaling, data entry, inventory management and machine operating
